Security Snafu

Our homestudy approval is being held up by a failure of Florida and NJ to return our security abuse clearances. We sent them in November, so we are uncertain as to what the problem is. The situation is currently being dealt with so hopefully we'll have some news soon.

Status Update: 03/27/09: Good grief, what a cofusing mess...although it is under control now. This morning we received and email that said, "We don't need NJ if you didn't live there since the age of 18." WHAT? In none of our paperwork did it ever say that we needed addresses that far back. So I emailed them again and what happened was they momentarily thought we were adopting from China, who does require addresses back to age of 18. Korea does not. So now that we have that cleared up, the only outstanding clearance is FL. The papers have been refaxed and if WACAP doesn't hear something by Monday, they are going to call for the clearance. Problem solved...finally.

Status Update: 03/26/09: Funny thing...WACAP emailed us and said they were resubmitting the FL clearances and couldn't find the NJ paperwork. For some reason that struck my mind as odd and then I realized why. After looking through our diligently maintained copies, I realized that we NEVER sent papers to NJ because it didn't fit the timeframe parameters of the clearance! Good grief. The only papers we needed were from FL (working on it now), IL (they have these already) and WA (not NJ). So this makes Malorie's job much easier now since she doesn't have to argue with NJ but instead she can just bitch out Olympia...right down the road. Amen!
